Galileo became Chair of Mathematics at the University of Pisa then Padua. While maintaining his status he performed experiments on falling objects.

From a Dutch design Galileo built his first telescope. His design was built to see farther. Shipping ports used his design to see when ships approach the harbor. They offered him a salary to build more. 

• 1610

While using his telescope to study the star he discovered new star and Saturn's moons.

• 1632

Galileo published his book about the arguments on heliocentrism called "Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems". While under house arrest and force to stop his studies he decided to publish another book "Two New Sciences", it's a summary of his life work.
